You can call the customer care service if your Epson printer is in warranty. If your printer exceeds the warranty period then you can use the following solutions before sending it for repair.

 

Solution 1: Reconnecting the printer

  • If your printer is showing error code 0x97, you need to cancel all the printing tasks and remove all the papers. 
  • You need to disconnect all the cables of the printer and then remove the ink cartridges.
  • After that remove the USB.
  • Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds to release the power of the printer.  
  • Now reconnect the printer. Connect all the cables including the USB.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges.
  • Check if it is still showing the error code.

 

Solution 2: Restart the printer

This solution is similar to solution 1. In this, you have to disconnect all the cables and you need to press and hold the power button for some time. Again press and hold the power button to connect all the cables. To test the printer, print a page.

 

Solution 3: Clean the printer

Sometimes a dirty nozzle or printhead may cause the Epson Error Code 0x97. The solution to resolve the error is cleaning the nozzle thoroughly. Following are the steps to clean the dirty nozzle and printhead:

Step 1: You need to remove the ink cartridges. Now, place this ink on clean paper. And finally, remove the printhead.

Step 2: Dampen the clean cloth in warm water and clean the printhead and nozzle area. Remove all the dots of ink from the nozzle area.

Step 3: For 10 minutes, soak the printhead in the warm water. Now, place a clean cloth on the base. After that, remove the printhead from warm water after 10 minutes and clean it with a neat and clean cloth and remove all the moisture from the printhead. 

Step 4: Now, air dries the printhead for 15 minutes.

Step 5: Reinstall the printer and insert the ink cartridge. And restart the printer.

 

Solution 4: Update the printer driver

Sometimes malware is the reason behind the Epson Error Code 0x97. To resolve this issue you need to install or need to update the drivers of the printer.
